Rene Marie Russo, an American actress and filmmaker who is a former supermodel is now a film director. Known for her elegant beauty her endurance in the competitive film industry reflects her talents and abilities as an actress. In the 70s, she started her modeling career and quickly became a prominent actor in the field. As early as the 1990s, she began studying theatre and acting. In the years following, in Los Angeles and California she made her first stage appearance. Russo began her film debut on ABCs drama series Sable in 1987 portraying the character of Eden Kendell. She played Tom Berengers' love interest two years later in Major League, her debut film. Her consistency won the hearts of critics who were wary of her acting skills. The performance she gave in Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak was a favorite of people who were critical of her performance, because she made a statement against Dustin Hoffman or Morgan Freeman. Despite this, she admits to not being passionate about the acting. She took a self-imposed long absence in the year 2005. For the film Thor, she returned to her acting. Rose Namajunas has been one of the most prominent UFC female athletes. She began her professional career in amateur fights, in which she was a part of various regional promotions. Then, she signed with Invicta Fighting Championships before joining Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC). The fighter has achieved a significant amount in recognition since joining UFC due to both her success both inside and outside of the octagon success. Namajunas is born June 29th 1993 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to a Lithuanian immigrant family. Growing up, Rose was involved in athletics like basketball as well as kickboxing. Her first appearance in professional competition at 18 years old for Invicta Fighting Championships at which she won two bouts by submission. That caught the attention Dana White who signed her for UFC Strawweight in December of 2014, when she was just 22 years old. Throughout Rose's time in the sport, she's been through periods of extremes and lows, but every time coming out on top. Rose was a fighter against Carla Esparza in April 2015 for the Women's Strawweight title. The fight was won via technical knockout in just 3 minutes of the opening round. It was the first women to compete for a title title with any of the major promotions in the world. Namajunas was able to be victorious in a variety of fights. She also defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk two times, winning her Performance Of The Night awards from UFC.
